What is an Inspection Template?

An Inspection Template is a list of Topics and Questions with a common inspection objective.  This can also be referred to as a checklist or survey form.

Inspection Templates can be used for different types of inspections. ( i.e. Daily Cleaning, Terminal cleaning, Safety & Security, Infection Control, Linen Audits, Fluorescent Gel Testing, etc.)

Components of an Inspection Template:

Inspection Template Name - The name of the inspection template tells the use of this checklist. (i.e. If you would like to conduct a cleaning inspection on a daily basis, you could name this inspection template “Daily Cleaning”.)

Location Models - The location models selected are the types of locations that this inspection template will be available to. (i.e. if the daily cleaning inspection template is only for Restrooms, you will not see it when selecting to inspect an Office. Click here to view an article on more information about Location Models

Topic - The topic is a specific item you are evaluating. (i.e. If your question is room outer doorknob is clean? Then the topic/item being evaluated is the Door.) Click here to view more information about Topics

Question - The question is defined as what you are evaluating on this topic. What are you asking the Evaluator to access? (i.e. If the topic being evaluated is the door, the question could be "room inner door handle is clean?")

Response Option - The response option is how are the answer options to the question that is being asked. (i.e. When reviewing if an item is clean you could use the response options: Pass or Fail).

Predefined Notes - Predefined notes are a quick and easy way to add a note to any inspection item. (i.e. You can use the predefined note labeled "Light Dust" to a failed question to give the operator a better understanding of why this item failed.)
