How to Create a New Topic

Need to create a new Topic for an inspection item to appear in your inspections?

This article will show you how to create a new topic and link it to Location Models. You MUST link the Topic to a Location Model in order for the Topic to appear in an inspection.

Below are the detailed steps on how to create a new topic and link it to Location Models.

  1. From your Dashboard, under the Setup module, click on the Topics tab on the left-hand side of the Menu.
  2. At the bottom of your Topics list, click on the Add button to create a new Topic.
  3. In the New Topic section, you start by creating your topic name. The Topic is the primary focus of the inspection item. (Ex. Topic is Bed: Questions are: Is the mattress clean?  Is the bed rail clean?  Is the bed control clean?)
  4. Add a Description of the Topic you are creating, (ex. what is this item?).
  5. Select the Location Models that you wish to have this topic appear in.  
  6. Add Tags. Tags are keywords that can be used to search for a specific topic when in an inspection.
  7. Make sure the status is Active.
  8. Once the new topic is created, click on Save to add the new Topic.

Summary 

When creating a new topic or edit an existing one, you MUST link the Topic to a Location Model in order for the Topic to appear in an inspection.
