How to Perform Offline Inspections
Need to perform an inspection in an area that does not have a good Wi-Fi internet/cellular connection?
With Offline Mode, you can perform inspections with no internet or cellular connection. Once you return to a connection, your inspections will automatically sync and upload the inspection data.
NOTE: It is important to sync your data as soon as possible to ensure that no data is lost.
Below are the steps in order to perform an offline inspection:
Once you have reached the "Inspection" page, you will see a green ribbon at the top of your screen stating "You have fetched your updated data. You may now go OFFLINE if needed."
(Note: there is no need to shut off your Wi-Fi. Once you reach an area with no Wi-Fi connection, the Wi-Fi will automatically disconnect.)
Once the Wi-Fi/cellular network has disconnected, the ribbon at the top of the screen will change to red stating "You are now OFFLINE. Your data will sync automatically when you are back ONLINE." This means that you are now offline and can perform inspections as normal.
Note: You can go offline at any time during your inspection.
Offline mode is limited to performing inspections only. Your Dashboard and Follow-ups will be restricted until you are back online.
When you have completed your inspections, return to an area with a Wi-Fi/cellular connection. Once connected, you will see a progress bar indicating that your inspections are syncing. (Note: please be patient while data is syncing. Once all inspections are uploaded you will get a confirmation "Sync successfully completed".) It is important to sync your data within a few hours after your inspections are completed to ensure that no data is lost.
Once the inspections are synced, the ribbon will read "You have fetched your updated data. You may now go OFFLINE if needed." and show the syncing has successfully completed.
Summary
No internet/cellular connection is needed to perform inspections. You can perform inspections in offline mode and sync later.
